Tohoku University has demonstrated a high track record in the field of spintronics. In order to further develop this field of spintronics, the Center for Science and Innovation in Spintronics (CSIS) is recruiting a young researcher who is expected to play an active role in the future of spintronics.
Position
・Type: Assistant Professor/Research Fellow (Postdoc)
Whether an applicant will be hired as an assistant professor or as a research fellow (postdoc) will be decided based on the applicant’s background and achievements. Applicants wishing to be considered specifically as an assistant professor or as a research fellow (postdoc) may indicate so in their application.
・Number of positions: 1
・Starting date: as soon as possible after February 1, 2026.
・Period of employment: until March 31, 2028. The contract may be renewed after this period.
Job Descriptions
After being hired, the successful candidate will belong to the Center for Science and Innovation in Spintronics (CSIS) of Tohoku University and will conduct research in collaboration with researchers who promote spintronics-related experiments or theoretical studies belonging to the CSIS. The successful candidate will also be able to perform their own research in collaboration with CSIS researchers and will have access to state-of-the-art facilities within the research group and at Tohoku University. CSIS consists of the following research groups:
・Spintronics Fundamental Research Group
・Spintronics Materials Research Group
・Spintronics Device Research Group
・Spintronics Integration Research Group
Qualifications
A Ph.D. or a related doctor’s degree is required
